Things you need to know about your driving lessons
- You will need to apply for your provisional driving license before you can begin your lessons
- You need to complete driving licence application form D1
- The minimum age requirement for driving on public roads is 17 (but off road training can be done at age 16)
- You must meet a minimum eye-sight requirement
- You need to pass your Theory and Practical Tests before you can apply for a full driving license
Things to bring with you on your first lesson
- Bring both parts of your driving license
- You must wear your glasses/contact lenses if required
Pre-Driver Training

These pre-driver lessons are created to teach basic vehicle control and cover the basics of driving. All of these lessons take place on a safe off-road area professional basic skills

L-Test Driving
Prima School of Motoring can assist you to pass both the Theory Test and the Practical Test and help you to get your full driving license and allow you to drive unsupervised on a public road.
Theory Test
During your Theory Test you will be asked to answer 50 multiple choice questions followed by a hazard perception test. The minimum score required on the multiple choice questions is 43. The hazard perception test will show you 14 video clips and 44% is the minimum pass mark. You need to pass both parts of the test in the same sitting to successfully pass the Driving Theory Test.
Practical
Once you have passed your Theory Test you can apply for your Practical Driving Test. Your instructor will advise you as to when you are ready to take your Practical Test. You will have use of your instructors car for the test as you will feel comfortable and familiar with this vehicle.
You should be able to drive with minimal assistance from your instructor, apart from directions on where to drive.
On the day of your Practical Driving Test your Instructor will be there help you overcome your nerves give you an extra confidence boost!
Pass Plus
To help avoid newly qualified drivers being in an accident, The Pass Plus Driving Course is designed to give valuable driving experience to new drivers.
After passing the Practical Driving Test, drivers can take 6 extra lessons to cover the following on the Pass Plus Course:
- Driving in town
- Driving out of town
- Driving in all weathers
- Driving at night
- Driving on dual carriageways
- Driving on motorways
